Technical specifications
Selank is a synthetic analogue of tuftsin, a peptide occurring naturally in the immune system. Research has examined anxiety-related behaviour in animal models, together with effects on GABAergic and serotonergic signalling and on the expression of brain-derived neurotrophic factor. Its origin as a tuftsin analogue has also directed study toward immune modulation. As with Semax, most of the published work comes from a single national research tradition, and conclusions drawn from it are best treated as provisional.
